Meet Our Trustees
As an independent, local charity, Citizens Advice Basingstoke is governed by a group of local Trustees who oversee the overall governance and strategic direction of our organisation.

Tony Curtis
Tony was formerly Chief Executive of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, retiring from that role at the end of 2014. Since then, he has held a few part-time roles including with Hampshire Hospitals NHS and as a part-time Visiting Professor in the University of Winchester Business School. Tony is a strong advocate for social inclusion. He has an extensive track record in transformation and management. Tony originally joined Citizens Advice Basingstoke as a trustee in June 2022 taking over
the role of Chair of Trustees in April 2023.

Richard Haas
Richard is a Chartered Accountant and spent his career in Asset Management before
retiring in June 2021 as the CEO of CapeView Capital. He is a non-exec director of the
CapeView and Lexcor Fund Groups, a Trustee of The James Capel Foundation and sits
on the FCA’s Markets Practitioners Panel, having previously been Deputy Chairman of
the Smaller Business Practitioners Panel. He is Chairman of the Ellisfield Parish Council
where he has lived since 1993.
Richard originally joined Citizens Advice Basingstoke as a Trustee in June 2022 and took over the role of Deputy Chair in April 2023.


Andrew Wooster
Andrew is now retired but held various senior management roles for a top 20 UK
insurance company. Whilst earlier in his career he held operational management roles,
in the latter part he moved more into risk, compliance and data protection roles and
has a professional qualification in data protection, having been the Data Protection
Officer for his employer. He was also a qualified member of the Chartered Insurance
Institute and has a degree in Economics. Andrew is also a trustee for his former
employer’s final salary pension scheme
Andrew was co-opted onto the Trustee Board in June 2025.

Daniel Weintroub
Daniel has practised as a solicitor for over 17 years and in that time, he has represented
clients from all backgrounds. He started off doing a mixture of Criminal, Housing, Family
law and for the last 9 years has specialised solely in representing clients in Family law
matters and joined Phillips Law in January 2023 as a Partner in the Family Department.
Daniel previously lived in Watford, he advised at Hemel Hempstead Citizens Advice free
advice clinic and for a short time served on their Board of Directors.
Daniel was co-opted onto the Trustee Board in April 2025.

Chris Cooper
Chris is a cybersecurity specialist who has worked with many major companies around
the world, advising and leading on cybersecurity, before setting up his own
cybersecurity business in Basingstoke in 2023. He is a chartered member of the UK
Cyber Security Council, as well as being appointed a Fellow by the British Computer
Society (BCS) and the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISEC). He is also a
member of the Basingstoke Board of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce
Chris was co-opted onto the Trustee Board in January 2025.

Catherine Brooks
Catherine is a retired HR specialist who has held senior roles in employee relations and organisational development in the retail and services sectors including at the WH Smith Group, Waterstones, the Automobile Association, and Centrica plc.
Catherine initially volunteered at Citizens Advice Basingstoke as a generalist adviser. She later specialised in energy advice and played a supporting role in recruiting and training new volunteers.
In October 2023, Catherine rejoined Citizens Advice Basingstoke as a Trustee.

Toju Ogbe
Toju is an academic and communications professional with extensive experience in
corporate communications across Africa, the Middle East, and the UK. He is a founding
member of Kikoi Connection – a coalition of ethnic minority groups in Basingstoke that
works with local stakeholders to promote social cohesion and cultural enrichment, as
well as advocate on issues that affect ethnic minorities in the borough area.
Toju joined Citizens Advice Basingstoke in October 2021.
