Elderly couple face losing their home through Section 21 eviction
Maurice is a pensioner who suffers from COPD, and cares for his bed-bound partner Dora full-time. He has been renting the property for 13 years and had been told by the landlord that the property would never be sold. However, Maurice has been handed a Section 21 Notice (no-fault eviction) and must find a new place to live, which will accommodate both him and his wife Dora. He has no way to stop this eviction due to the relaxed requirements of a Section 21 Notice and the delay to the Renters Reform Bill. He is extremely distressed at having to move 13 years’ worth of property into a new home they have yet to find, all while trying to take care of Dora.
