Volunteer retires after 15 years at Citizens Advice Basingstoke
Local charity Citizens Advice Basingstoke is sad to say goodbye to one of its longest-serving volunteers after 15 years.
Janet, who is a former school teacher, has been volunteering with Citizens Advice Basingstoke since 2009 and was presented with a bouquet of flowers to celebrate her last day with the charity just before the Easter holidays. Office Manager Jane Charlick said “Janet has been a huge part of our administration team, working one day a week with us to ensure that our paperwork on behalf of clients is up to date, and enabling our advisers to provide free, confidential and impartial advice to local people needing our help. Janet will be truly missed by all of us and we want to thank her for everything she has done for us over the past 15 years, we wish her all the best in her retirement”.
Citizens Advice Basingstoke provides a lifeline for local people, helping them to put food on the table, stay warm during the coldest months and keep a roof above their heads. Last year the adviser team resolved 15,144 issues on behalf of local people.
